2013 Jaguar F-Type V6 S

Hear hear, Jaguar has released a new sportscar: the F-Type. So what comes to mind first - the fact that it might possibly be uncomfortable and cramped? Or perhaps it would boast a classic wood and leather interior? A harsh and stiff ride, maybe? Well, Jaguar proves us wrong.

Fitted with a 3.0 litre supercharged engine, the F-Type V6 S produces 375 brake horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 450 N-m of torque at 5,000 rpm. It also does 0 - 100km/h in just 4.9 seconds. Although on first impression, the specifications for the V6 S may not seem all that great but surprisingly enough, the car has a vast array of exhilarating noises coming out the back. From the moment your foot taps the accelerator, to when it finally lets go and downshifts, the exhaust creates a loud crackling noise.

The F-Type's striking exterior naturally exceeds expectations; the headlights are stretched back with a slender LED strip inside. In between them sits a grille with a fresh design, while two mini gills provide companionship on each side. Moving on to the rear, we find the sleek LED tail-lights wrapped nicely around the fenders. And indeed, the twin central exhaust system does not disappoint - Jaguar's impeccable styling proves that the F-Type is nothing short of wonderful, without the need for ruthless acceleration.

Internally, there are two types of leather to decide on - either standard or premium. While 'standard' may possibly connote second-rate quality, the trim is not a let-down. As a matter of fact, everything is well-stitched and a broad amount of fine leather covers the dashboard to enhance the sporty feel. The only hints of metal are established in the centre console, the push start button and the paddle-shifters behind the wheel.

Personally, I'm not too keen on the compact V6 engine (keeping in mind the V8 is available as well). Even so, the sputtering noise it produces is really quite something.
